ABSTRACT
In this study we examined electoral processes and security challenges in Nigeria. We took special reference to the 2015 general elections and inferred to 2011 and 2019 elections in the country. The study seek to some research questions on the causes of electoral process malpractice and its implication on national security. The study due to its universal nature adopted both the qualitative and quantitative descriptive method of research. While, interviews were conducted amongst 10 members of the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); it noted and logically represented violent facts from the National Security Tracker (NST). the study recommends granting INEC an autonomy to conduct free and fair elections. This is because the piper detects the tune.
